Mystery Tool - your guesses please

I've had Felicity for four years now.
I've yet to figure out what this tool is for.
It is mounted below the alcohol stove in the galley area.
No idea what this is or what it is for.
It is about the length of a ballpoint pen.
Any guesses are appreciated.

Just a guess, but does the shaft end insert into a hole to keep the oven from gimbaling?

Thanks for offering a guess. No one else has tried yet.

The stove is the original recessed countertop Kenyon pressurized alcohol stove (works great) but it is not gimballed.

I found an odd 1” teak dowel about 16” long on Orion when I bought her. One end had been turned down to 5/16” for about 1/2” so I knew it had a special purpose. Took me a couple seasons to realize it was a prop, or support, which fit neatly into a lined recess on the cabin sole and midway on the underside of the starboard settee extension berth.

So far the match holder idea seems to be correct.
My cigarette lighter failed the other week and I needed to light the alcohol stove.
I recalled the match older idea and tried that with some old wooden matches I had onboard, it worked well - no burnt hands.
