Capt Hook

Glad to hear your clear of the bad snot but I really feel for the folks west of you.
A 1-2 punch like this within 6 weeks is brutal!
Needless to say, we have come through fine so far in Niceville with just a minor rise in water level.
Of course, I'm sure that's only because i moved KAYLA a mile away to an H-hole Tuesday...

I also hope our members from Pensacola to NOLA are recovering OK from Sally.

This has really been an amazing year :!: If this goes on much further we will run out of Greek names and we will be counting and naming tropical systems on our toes.

30 November cannot come soon enough. :D

Things these days seem different than the 100-year average shown above, with more storms both during and outside of the official "season" than there used to be. Check this out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_o ... hurricanes. I didn't realize that there have been 4 Atlantic hurricanes in January. Whoa!

With the exception of a few TDYs, I have lived in South Florida since circa 1965. This has been, and unfortunately continues to be, an amazing hurricane season.

That’s an incredible graphic. Brings new meaning to the term “hurricane alley.”

The only good think is the Hs turn to S before landfall.

But I'm not banking on that.

Well... I moved KAYLA to a safe hole when Delta was forming and approaching with the panhandle in the cone. As it turned out, all we got was some higher than normal water. Since we're still waiting for some pilings to be replaced and rebuilding some of our dock, I decided to leave KAYLA in the hole.

And now I'm hoping that by having her very secure, potential Zeta will avoid us as well...
