Seacocks revisited
Hi All
Well I got the seacocks lapped/lubed, but I screwed one of them up and had to replace it (gotta love the learning curve). Anyway, I had to buy ONE new one and the bronze screws that attached it to the thru-hull were orginial (sp) and got really boggered up when I pulled them out. So NOW where do I find re-placements (remember this is Oklahoma)???? I am not too sure as to their size, but I would guess either a 3/16" or a 1/4" (I would guess the former & will make sure prior to ordering), by 3". Were do I get bronze bolts/screws???
Thanks
Bill
Being on the hard really sucks!!!!!!!!! Hats off to the northern brethern who endure so much (winter) for so little (short season)...

I'm about to go through same process. Perhaps you can answer
Are the bolts round-head? (From the inside, I can see only their tails. Until the boat is out of the water, I have no way of knowing what kind of bolts they are. And I'd like to order them beforehand.)
Re: Seacocks revisited
If you have time for mail order, check Southern Crown Boatworks (http://www.southerncrownboatworks.com/), near Atlanta.
Also, re a subsequent posting, they are normally flat head slotted with a countersink into the glass hull.

Re: Seacocks revisited
On second thought, I got my last set of bronze machine screws from Chesapeake Marine Fasteners (http://www.chesfast.com/, 800-526-0658). I used the 800 number and they didn't seem to mind the small order (3 screws/washers/nuts).

Try Mc Master Carr @ mcmaster.com then place orders at (404) 346-7000.It is well worth visiting the site, they have almost everything. I just purchased silicone rubber hose for my raw water exhaust manifold to dry exhaust hose (rated +350 deg. f.)#5296K31. This is about as one-stop shopping as you can get. The paper catalog is over 3000 pages so set aside some time and enjoy. Hope this helps.
