CD 30K "Leoma" update 5/21/17

Post by JD-MDR »

CD 30K "Leoma" update.more photos for your entertainment. I thought I was ready to put the mast up and launch but found at least 4 bad swag connections, decided to change all the wires and unstep the mizzen as well. The photo of the mizzen step didn't come out, It is broken. They will make one out of g10. The middle photo shows one of the side backing plates made of g-10 and g-10 knee braces.,There was a void above the plate that is packed with a mixture of chopped and fibers and whatever else they put in. I noticed the original also had filler in that space. All the stuff is on deck so the surveyor can have access . He is gonna survey like it is so I can get a slip at Ventura in August

"Leoma" is looking sharp. The G10 backing and braces look as good as any retrofit that I have seen.
The marina requires a survey before renting a slip?

Thanks, I've been having good luck with work down here in LA so I ordered a tri-color/anchor light and new antenna wire. also a wind vane. This boat doesn't even have a compass.. Yea, the marina at Ventura wants an out of water survey since she's so old . The survey was $410, He said its not a pre-purchase survey but an insurance survey and doesn't detail everything. It looks pretty detailed to me .He said two things make it exceptional; the interior and the engine, Volvo MD7A reportedly has low hours. and he rated the boat as above average.
