Was the Cape Dory 28 produced with a head holding tank? If so, what size is it and what material is it made out of? Is the head designed to discharge directly overboard as well as into a holding tank?

Re: head holding tank CD28
Dean: I can only guess at the original configuration but, as you know, a direct discharge(or Y-valve) from the head is a no no and the CG will assume you are a bad guy if they find it. I re-fitted my 28 Serenitas with a thirty-gallon tank and a Y-valve after the tank going either to the deck pump out or (when legal) to a overboard discharge.Seems simple enough compared with the bowl of worms I inherited. Happy Sailing. PaulDean Smith wrote: Was the Cape Dory 28 produced with a head holding tank? If so, what size is it and what material is it made out of? Where did you put the 30 gallon holding tank on your 28? How big a job was it to install? Warren
