Painting mooring buoys

Post by jen1722terry »

Hey CDers!

I was wondering if anyone has found a bottom paint that will stick to the plastic mooring balls (Taylor Made type).

All advice appreciated.

The only suggestion is to roughen the surface with 100 grit first. I typically use whatever is left from painting the boat - I have used hard & ablative, water borne & solvent. They all seem to work OK.

Thanks, Jeff. Will do and I let all know how it works. Our float is in the head of the harbor new the inlet of a freshwater stream. For some reason, it gets more barnacles and earlier then the floats further out the harbor.

Cheers!
