Lost my rudder Typhoon weekender 1971 - HELP
Is there anyone who might have the specs on a 1971 typhoon rudder. I need to make a new one, and the builder needs specs. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I went to the web site and was able to find a diagram, but I also need measurements.

Hi Carlos,
If you want to, PM me your USPS address and I will send you a template and specs for a new rudder.

Hi Carlos (again),
After rereading your post, I see that you have access to the diagram. Here are the specs.
A: Height along the rudder post (foreward edge), 27 1/2"
B: Height of spur at top of rudder blade, 3"
C: Width of rudder blade, 13 1/4"
D: Thickness of rudder blade, 3/4"
Good luck,
O J

typhoon rudder
The rudder of a typhoon that I am rebuilding has been damaged from improper loading on the trailer by a travel lift. It has broken away from its suport. I am not even sure how to remove the old blade. It feels like a metal part at the base of course, it is under several coats of bottom paint so I can't be sure. Does it some how come loose and drop after a base plate is removed? Then once off does the whole thing need to be reglassed or can it be replaced? I assume there is a bronz or stanless shaft with the rudder sandwiched around it. It sounds like you have worked on your rudder before can you ive me some advice? Thanks
