Spars...Paint or not to paint

I have a dilemma that I've been struggling with. The spars on my boat are original unpainted anodized aluminum. Although not terribly bad, the the spars are beginning to oxidize. I thought about painting or just apply a polish if there is such a thing to slow the oxidation. Is there such as product?? Or should I just paint and deal with upkeep in the future. I have read both pros and cons on this subject. My preference is to find the "magic" polishing product and move on. Anyone out there with experience with this? I have used Collinite 920, 925, and 870 with good luck - all on fiberglass, of course. Seems to be a good product.
