Spartain Seacock "frozen" ...Suggestions needed

The seacock on the "head" discharge thru hull of our CD28FBC needs cleaning and greasing but neither heat nor oil will free it. How can I get it free and out?

Assuming you can't reach the barrel end to tap it vigorously, remove the handle and place a wrench in its place and then whack the wrench with a hammer to loosen. Do not hit the handle, since the metal is soft and distorts easily.

Had a similar problem on the cockpit drains of Parfait. Nothing would break them loose, including the hammering previously recommended here. Turned out that the oysters had decided it would be a good place to set up housekeeping. Previous owner graciously paid to have yard correct problem. Lesson: use those seacocks often, don't let the oysters take over.
