Re: Almost lost our boat today.

Same thing happened in Haverstraw Marina few years back to other boat. I learned a lesson and chained my boat to the fence or electric pole until I was ready to launch.

Re: Engine Water Intake 'T' fitting

I installed a Tee valve before the raw water filter. It is connected to the filter in the middle. One side connected to the Intake hose and the other side is a nipple for garden hose and alike.
I can winterize my Engine without taking apart my engine intake hose. And I have an emergency Bilge Pump.

I went through the same frustration.
It is simple if you will learn first how this thing works.
You can get the knowledge from the operation manual on the "The Wirie" website.
If this doesn't help? PM me.

Re: Internet access when cruising-The elegant way

One of the more elegant solutions to do it is to create a hotspot on your boat. I used Alfa products: AWUS036NHR Long Range USB Adopter to boost the signal received. R 36 Mobil Router Engenius Antenna. Now I can sit in my cockpit and provide WiFi to all the Ipads and Smartphones on board. All it nee...

Waterproofing material

I just stumble upon this movie on you tube. I think it will be of interest to the forum members.
It is amazing material that repel almost every liquid. Just think what this stuff can do for us.
I have no connection to any of it.

Re: Question on Instrumentation

Dean You are right. The right way for Raymarine would be to take the info from the GPS to calculate the TRUE wind and if GPS does not exist than to take the info from the Speedo. In my old (ST 60) it takes the Speedo info only. May be it was changed in the newer systems. Like everything in life and ...

Re: Question on Instrumentation

One point to mention.
The wind instrument (ST 60 Raymarine) takes the info from the speedo to calculate the TRUE wind. not from the GPS. Can not be changed in the model year I have.
Maybe it is different in the new'er models? I would check this issue before I make my final decision.
