Wanted: Older Cape Dory winch handle
I have Cape Dory 22 with one winch handle - the other one is missing. I'm looking for a second handle so I don't have to keep switching back and forth. If anyone has a handle or knows where I can get one, the info would be appreciated.

CD 22 Boarding Ladder
I am looking to buy a boarding ladder for my CD 22. I want a ladder that has at least 5 rungs to make it easier for boarding. My CD 22 did not come with a ladder, but it does have ladder mounting pieces on the starboard deck side near the winch. I'm thinking a stainless steel side boarding ladder wo...

Boarding ladder for CD 22
I am looking to buy a boarding ladder that would be well suited for a CD 22. I am thinking stainless steel with enough rungs (5 or more) that would be easy to use to climb off and on for swimming. I want a ladder that would be easy enough for older people or people who do not have a lot of upper bod...

Off shore flare gun
Hi guys, I appreciate your discussions about firing pins, but I can assure you that this offshore flare fun will not have any firing pin problems. It is in amazing condition and incredibly well made from solid brass and with a steel firing pin and beautiful wooden handle. It must weigh a pound. It h...

Offshore Flare Gun
I have this great old offshore flare gun. It is a WWII British Webley No.1 Mk. III Brass Flaregun caliber: 1 inch. You can look it up on the internet. It is very collectible and I see WWII Mk III Webley flareguns listed for $495. It Is all brass and very well made. I bought mine off an old sailor fo...

Thanks for the info
Thanks for the info on the CD 22 water screens. I like the concept - just wish they weren't so expensive.

Boat Hauler
Hi Dean, I found a really good boat transporter in Florida who is very reasonable - especially if you work with him. He has a large trailer and can carry two boats or one boat and a bunch of household stuff. Anyway, if you're not in a hurry, and he can put you in when he is going in the same directi...

"Send a salami to your boy in the army"
Forgetaboutboating, Carter really started a nostalgia movement. I grew up on New York's lower east side, where I was surrounded by a variety of ethnic food from Chinatown, Little Italy, and Jewish deli like Katz's. It was really wonderful. There was this lilttle known, (no tourists,) local hole in t...

CD 22 Cockpit seat cushions
I am interested in getting seat cushions for my Cape Dory 22. Can you tell me about the materials you use, how the cushions are made and how much it would cost for two cushions for the bench seats in the cockpit of a CD 22.

Typhoon Grounding Wire
The question of whether or not to ground your boat is controversial, because as you say, boats that are well grounded are supposedly more likely to get hit by lightning. However, if your boat is well grounded, you are supposedly less likely to sustain injury or damage to your boat. It's a real catch...

Music system for CD 22
I's like to install a music system on a CD 22 that would play both inside the boat and outside in the cockpit. Any reccomendations for a good, durable system that won't break the bank?

"To well or not to well"
Marc - thanks for the advice. I can appreciate what you are saying. And yes, there are drawbacks with having the well. In any case, I will not be rushing into anything, and I will be sailing the boat just the way it is for a while before I make any significant changes. My problem is I've had several...
