On the base of my Typhoon Weekender mast, the stainless steel pin has worn the aluminum mast hole. One side is worse than the other, see images. I am trying to decide whether or not to add a roller furler system to a Cape Dory Typhoon. I am wondering if it complicates raising and lowering the mast as I will be trailering the boat without a slip.

I'm guessing that it would only complicate the process, but to what degree?
