Cape Dory built 45 CD Dinks from 1971-1973.

Please send pictures.

Do you still own the Dink and would you be interested in selling it?

Thank you.

Wanted - Portland Pudgy

We are looking to purchase a used Portland Pudgy. Please let us know if you or someone you know may have one for sale and what, if any, non-standard/basic boat equipment may be included in your price. We are in NW Wisconsin on Lake Superior and so we are aware that shipping will be expensive. Thank ...

CD 31 Propeller

We have a Cape Dory 31 with an original equipment 2-bladed prop and a Universal 25hp diesel. We sail on Lake Superior and occasional the chop (rarely a roll) can get fairly large (5-6+). When sailing to windward, the boat performs well, but when motoring, the forward motion can be as little as 1 kno...

Ice box drain clogging up.

I am experiencing a back up in the drain to our ice box in our Cape Dory 31, so it continues to fill (slowly) with water even after I have cleaned it. It is refrigerated, but I don't think that that should cause the back up. I realize that the ice box drain is a 'slow drain' so that room temperature...

Thank you all!

After reviewing your insightful comments, I've decided to leave her as she is.

Teak Strip Above Portholes

I have recently restored my Cape Dory. Somewhere along the line, the previous owner(s) removed the teak strips that run above the portholes on either side of the exterior cabin. I am being told by some of the marina crew that I should leave them off because they pose a moisture / leaking risk. Other...

Bilge Stench

We continue to have strong bilge stench on our Cape Dory 31. Cleaning the bilge and solvents don't seem to have any (permanent) effect. I'm hoping that the problem is coming from a leak in the head hoses that run to the holding tank. That's the next thing we will have checked. Those hoses are likely...

Teak Steering Wheel

I am looking for a used teak-rimmed steering wheel for my CD 31 (the new ones (by Edson over $1000) run a little steep for my budget). I am hoping to find a wheel with a diameter of approximately 24 inches (600mm). Please contact me either on this board or by my email or by phone if you have a wheel...
