Re: CD27 - Rudder Post
Hey thanks. Of course I did things out of order and checked the search of the site after posting my inquiry. The site is complete with information as usual. Nonethelees, your note is valuable in that it details the post and sleeve arrangement. My assumption of a stuffing box is made in error. I have...

CD27 - Rudder Post
Hi,
I recently noticed a bit of water "seeping" from around the base of the rudder post in the boat.
Has anyone had any experience repacking or replacing the rudder stuffing box or what ever the sealing of the post is called.
Thanks,
Richard G.

CD 27 & YSB8
Has anyone with the original separate speed and shift Morse controls, switched to a single lever control system and if so what and how and any special considerations?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: CD28 spreader base source
Hi, I had a similar issue on my CD 27. After trying to find the right stuff from all of the usual suspects I took the broken one to a machine shop and had them fabricate it. About $200 if I recall correctly and well worth having a proper solution.

Re: CD 27 Throttle & Shift Controls Problem
I too have been a long time fan of Tom and Ray. My plan is to try and increase the idle which I have not yet done but I have had one successful voyage and one in which I killed the engine in reverse but saved the day nonetheless by grabbing a stern dock line to halt the boat. I may decide to go to a...

Re: CD 27 Throttle & Shift Controls Problem
Thanks for your post...no, no work has been done but I am going to check the set up on the throttle setting on the cable to see if I can increase the idle a bit and see if that helps.
Best,
Richard

Re: CD 27 Throttle & Shift Controls Problem
Dear James,
Thanks for the ideas. I will double check the two lever set up applying your thoughts/ideas. Also appreciate the link to the single lever, am giving that a lot of consideration.
Thanks again,
Richard

CD 27 Throttle & Shift Controls Problem
Recently a situation has developed that when I shift from forward to reverse the throttle is also moved aft, past the neutral position killing the engine. This of course at the critical moment of turning into the slip when I need to have good forward momentum on the boat to be able to compensate for...

CD 27 - Throttle & Gear Shift Issue
I have a CD27 with Yanmar YSM8. The throttle and gear shift are together (separate levers) on the port side of the cockpit. Wondering if anyone has had a need, and/or success in lubricating these controls...lately when I shift into reverse while in idle that action must be moving the throttle back a...

Re: Sailing on the Hudson River
Bill, Thanks for the information. I am actually originally from the area and so your geographical references and those regarding current are clearly understood. I have not, however, sailed on the Hudson other than a brief outing from the 79th Street Boat Basin south to lower Manhattan and back and i...

Sailing on the Hudson River
Curious to hear about sailing possibilities on the Hudson River, perhaps near Croton or so... and certainly what adventures might be possible in either direction.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Ground Plate
Terrific thanks. Bad news is that I just had the boat out of the water and stripped the bottom of 36 years of bottom paint. Would have been nice to have known that it was seeping before relaunching but then…
Next time in about 2 years unless it gets worse.
Thanks again for the feedback.
