Re: Adding a pilot berth to a 28
Here’s the cushions on one side with the table up and with the table down. The two cushions from the other side of the dinette fill out the berth. Keith Note the sawdust on the cushions and sole. I like what you did there, Keith. I was looking at removing that water tank and making a storage place ...

Re: Raising/Lowering the mast using an A-Frame
Very nice! I had a MacGregor 26s that was easily trailerable and had a mast lowering system. The biggest issue was making sure the base didn't kick out and that the mast didn't start to lean to one side or the other. I wonder if the mast on a CD30 is too heavy for something like this. I really need ...

Re: Pettit Prop Coat Barnacle Barrier
John, I agree that there is more than enough in the small package to do two propellers. I just did a 3-blade 13" Campbell Sailer. I separated the two part mixture, by volume, prior to mixing with the hope of being able to save 1/2 of it for my next haul out. Using only 1/2 of the mixture, I eas...

Re: Pettit Prop Coat Barnacle Barrier
I'm trying Propspeed for the first time this season. I can tell you that in the first 2 summer months in Florida that I had it on, there was no growth. I'll know better after next season, but i have read good things about it.

Re: CD28 Hatch Repalcement
Yes. I replaced the lenses using cast acrylic from Tap Plastics following what hilbert posted: http://capedory.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=36462 To bed the lens to the frame, I used butyl tape: https://marinehowto.com/bed-it-tape/ Once the lens was set, I caulked the edge using: Dow Corning 79...

Re: Propeller shaft friction
I wanted to update this post now that I have the situation all sorted out. I've learned a lot in the process, mainly to always slow down, stop and think when things aren't working out well. Not that I didn't know that already, but many times I get in a rush especially when I am in uncomfortable situ...

Re: CD28 Hatch Repalcement
I replaced the hatch lenses on both of my Bomar hatches. They came out perfectly and don't leak a drop. I could not be happier and the price was really affordable. I also replaced the gasket using material from McMaster Carr. The only issue I have with them now is the arm risers. They are aluminum a...
