CD 330 For Sale
The march of time on my body is forcing me to downsize. I am offering my 1986 CD 330 for sale. The last four years have been spent bringing her back to life after being ignored. I am looking for someone who will finish the job that I have started and will be able to use her rather than just having h...

Rig Rite
John Stone just brought up Rig Rite in a different post. Does anyone know what is going on with this company. I am trying to get help rebuilding my traveler on my 330 and apparently the only place I can get the parts I need is from Rig Rite. I have tried posting on their website, calling, and I even...

Re: 33 or 330: anybody install a composting head?
I just put an Air Head in my 330 but instead of putting it where the head was I put it over where the shower was since we were not using the shower anyway. It fit great and feels like a "throne".

Re: Weepy keel
As a follow-up here are pictures. One area on each side of the keel. More information - the bottom was soda blasted and barrier coated 2 1/2 years ago. The yard that did it said there were very few blisters and they supposedly fixed them. Any help is greatly appreciated

Weepy keel
Just finishing a two year refurbish of my CD 330. Yesterday we bottom painted in preparation for getting her back in the water. This morning I noticed two weepy wet spots on the keel towards the bow and about 6 inches from the bottom of the keel. Anyone have any ideas about how to figure out what th...

Gel Coat Guidance
As is the case, I guess, with a lot of Cape Dory's, my gel coat has suffered over the years. I have dug out these cracks in the cockpit and am filling them with Thixo-flex but what a massive and time consuming job. All of the cracks go only through the gel coat which in some cases was 3 or 4 mm thic...

Re: CD30 Water Tank
I would be interested in knowing what equipment is being used for plastic welding. I purchased a welder from Harbor Freight and it was junk. I also tried borrowing one from and automotive repair shop and it appears a lot of them have quit doing it because they were not successful with the procedure.

Re: Teak source
John,
So for making rub rails instead of cabinetry would the plantation teak be a bad thing to use. I understand that it may not be as aesthetically pleasing but is it an inferior product for that application?

Teak source
It looks like my rub rails are going to have to be replaced. Does anyone have a recommendation for a source of teak lumber in the Baltimore area?

Re: Cabin sole flooring
I just got some samples from ICork flooring and the samples are pretty impressive. They are 12X12X1/4 tiles and come in all kinds of different patterns. I think I am going to use their Tasmanian burl pattern. The manufacturer's installation directions are to glue them down and then put two coats of ...

Cabin sole flooring
Having spent the winter removing and rebuilding the cabin sole in my 330, I am trying to decide what to use over the recently installed subfloor. My first thought was carpet but reviews do not seem good on doing that. Does anyone have experience with cork as flooring in the cabin? Any other thoughts...

Engine sump
Can someone please explain the concept of the sump below the engine for me. Why is it separate from the bilge and how do I empty it. On my Cape Dory 330 it is filled with water and other sorts of foul debris and when I flip the switch on the electrical panel labeled sump nothing happens. The boat ha...

Mast winter care
I had the yard remove the mast on Consort (Cape Dory 330) for the winter so we could rewire and inspect the rigging. The boat next to mine has it's mast sitting on sawhorses and all wrapped up with plastic wrap. That seems like overkill to me and leads to the question about what should I be doing fo...

I would be interested in splitting a roll of gasket material with people. I was also wondering what kind of template Joe was referring to.
