Toggle for backstay needed for CD25D - Spartan doesn't carry

I'm looking for a toggle for my CD25D's backstay, turnbuckle to deck connection - Spartan doesn't seem to sell them anymore - suggestions/leads? Many thanks.

25D cradle specifications?

I need to have a cradle built (or buy one if I get lucky and find one that will work) for my 25D Rhythm Changes. Anyone know where I can find specifications?

Re: Cooling problem - solved! and a mechanic horror story..

Update: after waiting four weeks for a mechanic, I had two (2!) booked for a two day period... the first was a 'friend of a friend' who found that he didn't have bolt remover nuts small enough for the bolts (I had told him that an 8mm turbo nut spun on the bolt head, but he didn't come prepared - di...

Re: Cooling system problem - please help!

Well, I've isolated the problem to between the bucket and the output from the pump. However, I could only get one of the three bolts off the seawater pump - the others are rounded but good. Being afraid to do more damage than good, I'm waiting for the yard mechanic to get the old pump off. Question:...

Re: Cooling system problem - please help!

I talked to a service manager and sales guy (two people) at Niemec Marine (dieselmarineparts.com) who were very helpful. I ordered a new seawater pump ($230?), plus new oil lines (the ones under the pump are heavily rusted). The service manager said a failed seal on the pump can also allow air to be...

Cooling system problem - please help!

Details: Cape Dory 25D, Yanmar 1GM (not 1GM10) OK - when I I put the boat away in the fall of 2019, all was well - pumped antifreeze into the system on the hard from a bucket, changed the impeller, drained the block, everything worked fine. Went to get ready to launch this spring - new batteries, so...

Re: Perry Nut Zinc wont fit?

Thanks, all. I was guessing that the nuts were off - there's a bad joke in there somewhere - I'll pull them again and see if the yard has replacements that will fit the zinc.
Have a great season!

Re: Auto tiller for CD 25D

I have an ST1000+ that I use - I burned out the first one I had, though I don't know how old it was as it came with the boat - didn't quite have the tiller balanced as well as I could have (sails/course balanced to get a balanced tiller), so had to replace with new. It works fine, but yes, you have ...

Perry Nut Zinc wont fit?

I bought a Perry Nut Zinc, size 3/4, to fit my Cape Dory 25D 1" stainless prop shaft with brass nuts - but it doesn't fit! The nuts seem just a bit too big (or the zinc opening too small) to fit... I emailed boatzincs and they responded: "Dimension for the ABYC-standard propeller hardware ...

Re: Peel Away Bottom Paint Stripper?

I did a bunch of research on removing bottom paint last year. The conclusion I came to is to follow the pros - use a random orbital sander, a shop vac setup for dust (which works quite well - you can get and use one of those cyclone dust collectors if you like), and the key - 40 grit mesh sanding di...

CD25D Prop Happiness?

I'm not thrilled with the prop on my CD25D - just doesn't feel like it gets any real 'bite' and I don't get anywhere near hull speed under power... mine isn't original - and is a 3-blade Michigan Prop 12 R 08. Looking for what others are using with success/happiness, and/or suggestions... planning t...

Thanks for any leads.

Yanmar 1gm vented loop?

I'm thinking I should install a vented loop on my yanmar 1gm, connecting the cooling water line to the exhaust elbow. But, I'm not sure about setup - anyone have pics of how they've done this on their boat? Mine is a CD25D. Many thanks.

Batten Car for mast track on fwd side of CD 25D mast?

What are the specs for the mast track on the fwd side of my Spartan mast (CD 25D)?
Anyone have a batten car that fits that track lying around? I'm trying to build a bracket to hold the aft end of my dingy on the deck that attaches to the mast track.
Other ideas/suggestions welcome!
