Re: Any Ham operators?

I've added an Icom M710 to my 27' Cape Dory and have come to think as well that perhaps in years to come it might be redundant as satellite coms have matured and become much more practical and affordable to operate. but none the less after spending time and effort obtaining a general class license, ...

Re: What material used in my hatches?

I replaced the forward hatch on my CD27 last year and used G.E. Ultraglaze sealant to bed the replacement lexan into the frame.

Re: bowsprit for CD27?

Teakflex looks neat, like the idea of adding a bow roller, but it doesn't appear as if a sail could be flown from it. another problem I'm finding is that the bow pulpit extends out further than most production boats that have been fitted with the various after market sprits. the search continues!

Re: Topsider handpump replacement

I ordered one of these to replace my sink pump when it went -https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000F ... UTF8&psc=1

It fit into the space the old pump occupied. one year later it's still working as needed!

bowsprit for CD27?

Has anyone fitted a bowsprit on a 27? I'm considering the possibility of fitting a Selden retractable or one of the A shaped carbon bits to be able to fly a Gennaker in light airs.

Congrats on the passage! Would love to hear about your mainsail furler, I've been considering one and would love to hear anything you'd care to share about it.

4th of July, Washington DC

I sailed up the Potomac and anchored in the Washington channel for three days. The fireworks were ruined by the rain and low lying clouds but it was a fun trip, the longest time I've spent on the boat since I got it. Anchor held the whole time w/o much effort. A+ would do again. http://i.imgur.com/X...
