I've added a spinnaker setup to my CD27, but have found that the jib roller furler at the masthead gets caught up in the spinnaker halyard. The masthead has a stainless half loop that extends in front of the masthead. I have a block attached to the loop, but the spinnaker halyard catches the jib furler top. I've attached an image of the loop.
Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas?

Re: Spinnaker Halyard Help
I had the same piece of masthead hardware on both a 25D and 30. The 25D had a Harken furler and the 30 has a CDI furler. On the 30 am using a Ronstan series 50 block. Asymmetrical spinnakers in both cases. No problems with clearance in either case.
Perhaps the block is too big? The jib goes up the furler too far, needs to be pulled down to bring the top swivel down a bit?

Re: Spinnaker Halyard Help
Hello, Spinnaker on a 27 -something I've spent time getting right and the ups and downs. I club race the boat singlehanded. I had a loft make an asym A3 spinnaker setup for a top down roller furling unit, went with a Selden unit on a continuous line. Ran into the issue you are describing - how to get it out far enough forward so that it doesn't interfere with the genoa furling gear. the solution was two part, a small bowsprit and a crane at the masthead.
The first draft of the crane was undersized - it bent under the pressure required to keep the furling unit operating correctly - too loose and the sail wouldn't be able to wrap properly. Switched it out for a stronger bit of steel made up for me by a local welder. Also switched to an extremely low stretch line for the spinnaker halyard - this helped with the tension.
The bowsprit install ws straightforward my local rigger was able to do that. the sprit is an off the shelf solution.

Have used this setup in club racing and I can deploy it, gybe and bring it in by myself in all conditions. Anything over 24kts of wind and it's completely overpowered and can broach if I don't slip the sheets!
