Thanks again. I'm going to leave it alone. The boat has already been out of the water too long

Re: Typhoon coaming
Jeff, thanks for the response. It's good to know that the dowels were part of the original design. Also good to know that you successfully replaced your coaming without replacing the dowels. I'm not sure what I will do. I think I can make a jig to drill a smaller diameter hole and use a bronze or g1...

Typhoon coaming
I am replacing the coaming on my Typhoon. After removing it I saw that there are two drilled holes on the bottom of each board (starboard and port). The holes are at the ends of the boards. The holes may be as deep as 7" . The remains of a dowel (about 1/4") are in each hole. It looks like...

Re: Boot Stripe
Thanks, I thought I saw the same space in the the black and white brochure pics but I have not seen a CD painted that way. I guess it is difficult to reproduce. I'm not sure l want to attempt it.

Boot Stripe
We're the original CD boot stripes immediately above the bottom paint or was the a space between the bottom paint and the boot stripe?
Thanks

Re: Ty Daysailers - List of Known Models K and Gs
Matt, I apologise for the late reply. I know that my ty weekender is most likely a 1981 with an incorrect VIN on my title and on the stern. I thought someone might recognize that VIN as theirs or someone else's. I once found a CD member's boat listed on this site with the hull #1772, it was a 1981. ...

Re: Want to buy used Sailrite
I decided to by a new blemished sailrite machine. Blemished means some paint did not adhere to the machine during the powder coating process. Sailrite gives a 15% discount on blemished sewing machines.

Re: Ty Daysailers - List of Known Models K and Gs
My boat is a Typhoon weekender not a day sailer. The number on my boat's Cape Dory builders plate is 1771.

Re: Ty Daysailers - List of Known Models K and Gs
I have known that the paperwork for my Typhoon is not correct. I did not know that when I bought the boat from a dealer near Lake Champlain. My hull ID # is CPOK0060M81 (Please note that CPO not CPD is not my typo.) This VIN looks like it belongs to one of the K boats on the list. I have done an on ...

Re: Typhoon companion way bulkhead
Bill, thanks for your reply. My bulkhead seems to be like yours. I thought it was missing needed internal structure, some sort of core that had deteriorated or was removed by a previous owner.
