Typhoon Mainsail

Post by Tstec »

The mainsail that came with my Typhoon has large slug on the clew end of the foot and no bolt rope. This results in the foot of the mainsail being attached to the boom at only at clew and the tack. Is this a common design for the typhoon main or is the sail missing a bolt rope or slugs? There is no evidence of damage to the foot.
Thanks. T Stec

That is a loose footed main. I believe that is pretty much standard on new sails and allows for more control of sail depth. You should be fine.
