Electrolytic action
To me, it looks like galvanic action between the SS cable and some metal that composed the fastener that attached the cable to the stanchion.
Could the action be hastened by being enclosed by tape?

Boat instruments, equipment and spare parts on Ebay
Thought I'd give you a heads up on a lot of new and used boat instruments, equipment and spare parts I've listed on Ebay. Some items are brand new in unopened original packaging. We're moving to a smaller home and have to relocate a lot of stuff. Links: http://www.ebay.com/itm/220887353909?item=2208...

Never had a slipping problem after using Cetol Gloss
It's flexible and therefore imprintable with the soles of footwear. I always felt confident.

Earlier CD websites
Years before the CDSOA was established, there was an AOL member site where boat information was disseminated and traded online. There were many boat manufacturers represented, such as Alberg, C&C, Cape Dory, Hinckley, Pearson and Valiant. I was a regular respondent for the Cape Dory boats (sail ...

fwiw - The weapon was powerful enough to set fire to the target vessel some ( how many is classified I suppose ) miles away. It is reputed to have variable output - from mild sunburn to crispy critter ( my own paraphasing of their description ) allowing for escalating amounts of intensity. The Phas...

Board Actions
I can't remember when I've seen a more responsible approach to an issue than what the present CDSOA Board of Directors has pursued. They have honestly and respectfully discussed the amendments and then presented them to the whole membership for their say. In the past, these issues would never have b...

Actually, I received two emails - 17 minutes apart. That's when I knew it was bogus. I know Peter and if he was in trouble like that, I'm sure he would have called his friends.

Builders plate
I would opt for the BB plate for your CD10. I did on mine. They are so beautiful and a nice touch on your transom. Sure, they're pricey. But you rarely regret spending for the best on your boat. You usually regret going cheap! ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Fuel polisher
Sounds like something that should be aboard all diesel boats. In the long run, it would keep potential fuel sediment problems out of your boat and out of your mind. How do you stir up the bottom-attached sediment so that you can filter it out of solution? This happens occasionally when the boat hobb...
