Re: Should I replace this bow plate? CD Typhoon
Thanks everyone. Glad this thread could provide interesting commentary not only about bow plates & clevis pins, but also about the nuances of photo orientation as it pertains to a pretty old discussion board platform...As an aside, does anyone know who administers this platform and whether there...

Re: Should I replace this bow plate? CD Typhoon
Funny, guys :) So this might be of interest - I uploaded the photo via my phone...when I look at the image on the website via my phone's browser, it's right-side up. When I look at it on the browser via my laptop machine, it's upside down. Assuming the boat is right-side up (ahem) really what I want...

Should I replace this bow plate? CD Typhoon
I've been told by a guy who does rigging that the forestay holes in this bow plate are too big for the cotter pins and that they've elongated too close to the top of the plate. Does anyone think this is an immediate risk? Can I get through one more summer without worrying the the hole will break thr...

Seeking advice about toe rail repair on CD Typhoon
I've got a split toe rail on my new (to me) Ty and need some perspective on how to think about it: 1. Is this something I should be concerned with fixing right away? Does it pose any risk in terms of letting water into the hull? 2. What are the possible strategies for repair? 3. When it comes to ref...

Re: Where have you positioned the name decal on your CD Typh
Great input; I love seeing the pictures. "Dolcetto" looks lovely - would be interested to see how it looks with motor on the mount.
Also: any tips on where to buy (a Google search yields a million online options) and how to apply?

Where have you positioned the name decal on your CD Typhoon?
I'm debating where to put the decals for newly christened Dragonfly and would appreciate knowing what others have done: In the center of the transom? Symmetry is nice, but name would be obscured by motor To the starboard side of the transom? No motor obstruction, but then, no symmetry. On the port/s...

CD Typhoon question about spreader/tang
Hi all, When we stepped the mast on Dragonfly today I noticed that this tang where the spreader attaches to the mast is bowing a bit. Seems like something I should address. Does anyone have recommendations for where to get the replacement part? I have looked at the impenetrable list of parts at rigr...

Re: Winter storage in NH for Typhoon
Final decision: haul her to the house and tuck her in next to the garage. Tarps tied down securely (there's one more than pictured here, to fully cover the stern). Hopefully she's all snug for the winter!

Re: Winter storage in NH for Typhoon
Helpful comments, thanks. Yes, I realize the instant garage thing might be overkill. My biggest concern, though, is that this boat will be under tall and old white pines, and I'm worried about falling limbs, which is why a roof is appealing. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I'd hate to learn the hard w...

Winter storage in NH for Typhoon
Hi all, My first post here - I just bought a 1970 Typhoon in July (newly christened "Dragonfly.") We launched her last week in Lake Winnepesaukee in NH, and so far all is well! I'm delighted with the boat. I'm thinking ahead to the end of September, when we'll pull her out for winter stora...
