I use the same system as Dick has for mentioned. It was shown to me by Chris C. a fellow member of the Otsego Sailing Club, and
it has been flawless. Just remember to install the slug before stepping the mast.

I think you have the direction of rotation incorrect? In the Northern hemisphere the rotation is clockwise and counter clockwise in the southern hemisphere. Here is an added bit of trivia, some plants follow the sun, heliotropism, clockwise in northern hemisphere and counter clockwise in the souther...

Re: Size of New Headsail
Jim and Linda,
I have a Schaefer Furler on my 1975 Typhoon Weekender and a 150% genny. I use it in all wind ranges with great success. If the wind starts to blow 20 I reef the main and leave the genny full. Its a fantastic boat and a real JOY to sail.

I have a 1974 Typhoon and the Genoa track is in the same place? This is the first time I have ever seen this setup other than on mine. The boat came with a 150 Genny and when I do club racing the boat point just as well as the rest and the speed is equally as fast in all weather conditions. Go figur...

Re: jib fairleads
I always leave one turn around the winches, it offers just enough resistance to keep the sheets away from the cleat when tacking. In light wind this does not work as well as you may have to pull the sheet for slack.

Hi Alan,
I have a 1975 Typhoon and would like to know if you have the Genoa cars and the tracks they ride on.
Thanks

Re: Whisker Pole Use
I have the same pole for my typhoon #897. When I go on the downwind leg I loosen the jib sheet so the clew is well forward of the stays. At that point I pull the clew closer to me with the other jib sheet and insert the spike. I push the pole and sail out and hook the other end to the mast. I used i...
