Skeep, I put a traveler on my 1973 Typhoon and found it makes mainsail trim so much better and easier....also has the benefit of pulling the boom to one side for a bit more room to move around the cockpit when preparing to get underway or tying up the boat after a sail. I replace the 6" access port with an 8" access port on my Typhoon in order to install a traveler. With the 8" opening I could place nuts and washers on the bolts holding the traveler. I used the 8" template that came with the access port. Worked fine

Strengthing Typhoon hatch

I'm interested in reinforcing/strengthening the sliding hatch on my Typhoon. Ocassionally I step on the hatch with my big feet and it flexes. Looking for ideas on how to reinforce the hatch.

Typhoon Portlight replacement

I need to replace the portlights on my 1973 Typhoon (Weekender) with bronze portlights. The port hole diameter is 4 1/4 in. The Spartan replacement portlights are 4 3/4 in diameter. Before I enlarge the port hole to fit the Spartan portlights...I'm hoping to find another supplier with the right diam...
