Re: air-cooled outboards
I had an older 2.5 Honda 4 stroke that was water cooled. Mine was direct drive, not a clutch system like the 2.3. It pushed my TY fine but I didn't like the spin reverse with direct drive for the tight places at my marina. I searched for a used newer 2.5 with a clutch but found an almost new Mercury...

Re: Winter storage in NH for Typhoon
When I first purchased my TY I bought one of the instant garages Julie mentioned. The boat and trailer fit perfectly. It was great when I refinished the deck to keep off falling debris, but it was destroyed by the winter snow. It just collapsed. The weight of the snow was too much for the stanchions...

Re: new sails for Typhoon
Only positives to say about the Sail Store. I bought a CDI roller and genoa from them last year. Great service, price and quality. No issues.

Re: Typhoon Roller Furling System
I have never had problems furling or unfurling. I am not quite sure what the issue is with the internal halyard, I put it up and take it down once a year with no problems. Considering the cost differential, and positive reviews, I would pick the CDI.

Re: Typhoon Roller Furling System
Bought a CDI FF1 and Genoa from the Sail Store last year. Below is the quote. The only additional expense was a new forestay to fit the roller. Bill was very responsive and couldn't be happier. Works like a charm and easy to install and take down. He suggested no ball bearings were necessary for a T...

Re: Typhoon Fueling
I didn't have the dock fueling issue but wanted to have additional fuel, just in case, for my Honda 2hp. I also bought a camping fuel canister but for safety didn't want to leave in down below so I secured it the cockpit. The engine tank holds about a 1/4 gal which the manual says should run for one...
