Re: CD25D bimini
I used stainless tubes, with wood dowels stuck into the ends. Screwed stainless eye bolt in and they were good. Having some adjustable straps is a good idea also. It is nice having the height under the awning. If you have a dodger (some call it a spray hood) it is even cozy on a wet and or windy day.

Re: CD25D bimini
Hello,
Why not make an awning which goes over the boom? Three straight tubes, it rolls up and deploys quickly. You can stand under it if the boom is set high enough.
Just a thought.

I have used this foam. https://foamforyou.com/50-ild-for-seat- ... hions.html
It is nice and firm and does not retain water. Water flows right through it.

Source for Bronze Flat Head Machine Screws
Hello, So after removing my 3/4" seacock to service it and replace the backing plate, I am having trouble finding 3" bronze flat head machine screws (bolts) to reinstall it. Is anyone aware of a good source for them? No trouble finding bolts, which would leave hex heads protruding from the...

Re: Fayaway winter projects: chainplates, dodger and more
Those all sound like excellent projects. The dodger will likely provide the most increased comfort. Once you have one you may wonder how you ever managed without it. The updates on the dinghy will be eagerly anticipated. There is an incredible amount of high quality knowledge on this board. Do not h...

Hi,
Are you keeping the button depressed with no response. At times mine will do that for a few seconds and then begin to turnover or on a second attempt it will turn over. Not sure this is useful for you.

Re: CD25d throttle cable
Not exactly the same, however, when replacing my shut off cable, just ordered the part from a Yanmar dealer nearby. It fit perfectly and was easy to replace. Hope you find it as easy for the throttle cable. Please let us know how it goes for you.

Re: Anderson 12 ST for 25D or 27
Hi Dick, I replaced mine, not with Anderson, but with some used Barient 17's. They are much better. Not only do they handle the tailing, but they had a mechanical advantage, as in gears, as well. The original winches on the 25D rotated the drum once with one revolution of the handle. The Barients ar...

Hi Dick,
How deep is it? Any reason you could not use a spade anchor, such as a mantus 25#, with about 25 feet of chain and as much line as needed and be fine?

Re: Vendor for running rigging
Hi Dick, Have not used SB Owners. Recently replaced halyards and main sheet with 3/8". It has been adequate, no complaints. It seemed smaller than the previous main sheet and runs more cleanly through the blocks. It seems like the lengths used were a little less, maybe six to ten feet, then the...

Re: New owner of Cape Dory 26 / Mast Weight Question
Hi Mike, My familiarity is with the 25D, which is about the same as the 26. The mast and rigging weighs well under 200 pounds, in my estimation. I use a gallows, which others refer to as an A frame to raise and lower the mast. It is quite manageable with two patient people. Don't rush and don't forc...
