It's a head scratcher how they can sell for so much less than US retailers (even on-line). Newly acquired CD 27. It came with a club footed jib, that I really do not like. I purchased a type 0 roller furler and genoa. My rigger is suggesting the furler is too small, and a type 1 is best suited for the Chesapeake Bay conditions. Anyone out there using a type 0 furler on their 27? I am will...

I just acquired a 1978 27' Cape Dory. From what I know, the folding table started in '78. Same Yanmar 8 though.

I am in search of a type 1 sized roller furler system. I have complete type 0 system I could trade.

Or just buy. Any ideas? The 0 sized furler seems to be undersized? for the Chesapeake Bay...

Thanks Dana. The slack is actually not in the length of the foot, but an extra small belly right above the boom. I did notice a slight arc in the main, peaking in the middle of the main's foot. Not sure why.
