Question for the CD owners

Post by Johnd »

Newly acquired CD 27. It came with a club footed jib, that I really do not like. I purchased a type 0 roller furler and genoa. My rigger is suggesting the furler is too small, and a type 1 is best suited for the Chesapeake Bay conditions.

Anyone out there using a type 0 furler on their 27?

I am willing to trade my club jib, boom and brand new Harken 0 furler for a type 1 sized furler.

Thanks in advance for any input,

John d

John:

I have a 1982 Cape Dory 25D. Several years ago I installed a Harken Mark IV Unit 0 roller furling system on the recommendation of my sailmaker and the rigger. I sailed in Biscayne Bay area. I have been very happy with the system. Your conditions in Chesapeake Bay may be very different from the generally benign conditions on Biscayne Bay.

Good luck :!:
