Re: What Was Cape Dory Thinking?

Thanks for the picture! That is where my batteries are located (for now). I’m sure it’s nice to have a genset on board.

Re: What Was Cape Dory Thinking?

Would you mind posting some photos of your generator set-up? Where is it located?

Thanks!

Re: Painting the Spar "attachments"

I have painted some of them. Some with interlux perfection and some with spray paint. Both have held up well and I’m still glad I did it all these years later (I think I painted them in 2011 or 2012). Given the ease of spray paint, that’s the route I’d recommend. For the sprayed parts, I used a copp...

Re: Flybridge attachment

They are aluminum strips, correct? Are they visible when you remove the headliner?

No longer for sale

As any parent would be excited to hear, my oldest son has decided we need a last big adventure together with the boat before we sell it. We are planning a trip to Bermuda together to celebrate my upcoming military retirement so Prerequisite is off the market for the foreseeable future. Happy sailing.

Re: CD33 in Annapolis, MD For Sale $19,500 - Photos Added

Dredging at the dock is possible, I only need another foot or so, but the problem is the several hundred yards to the channel that would also need to be dredged. My CD trawler gets to the dock without a problem, as does our little center console. We are joining a yacht club around the corner and hav...

I should have mentioned I relocated the house battery to under the quarter berth to make it easier to access. The emergency reserve starting battery (we typically start the engine on the house bank) is still in the port lazerette.

Thank you for the kind words! We love the boat and it has been great for our family over the years. If our new dock were just a little deeper we’d never let her go.

Please note one of the starboard ports’ glass has cracked. It does not leak but should be addressed eventually.

Off the Market

We are sadly selling our 1981 CD33. We are moving and our new dock does not have sufficient depth for Prerequisite which we have owned and loved for 10 years. Rather than keep the boat in a slip down the road we’d prefer to find a new boat that can be docked in our backyard. New Doyle main and Genoa...

Re: Looking for an oven

It’s hard to beat the Origo 6000 for simplicity. It isn’t the cheapest option to purchase but when factoring the installation is limited to simply mounting the gimbals the total cost is only the purchase price. Installing a full propane system might be better for cooking but it adds a lot of cost be...

Re: Restoration of 1974 Typhoon #634

Glad to hear of another dual-CD family in town. We also have a 28FB and a CD33 sailboat. Look for us on Mill Creek and say hello! Great job on the Typhoon!
