Hello all,

Anyone know what the propeller shaft length on the Cape Dory 28 is when equipped with the MD7A?

Re: MD7A Question

Maine_Buzzard: Thank you, your thoughts appear to be correct. Going on your suggestion of the thread idea, I blew compressed air through the oil passage from the bottom of the head and got nothing. So I removed the stud, which was frozen in place due to rust. Then I blew the air again and it flowed ...

MD7A Question

Hey guys, I pulled the cylinder head off my MD7A to replace the head gasket and am cleaning it up a bit before I put it back on. I have a lot of experience completely rebuilding gasoline car engines but this is my first Volvo, and my first diesel. It appears from the condition that the rocker assemb...

Re: Cape Dory Owners at Herrington Harbor in Deale, MD?

Hi guys,
I wasnt able to make the beach party due to losing my glasses overboard and mounting a failed rescue effort.

I'd like to meet you guys soon, however. I met John with the CD28 beside me and we had some wine and brats. Good time.

Re: Cape Dory Owners at Herrington Harbor in Deale, MD?

Hi Cliff.

I should be around Saturday afternoon until I go to the party at HHS. They have me in slip M14 right now. I'll be trying to clean her up and get her organized since I've had to work all week and haven't had the time.

Are you going to the beach party at HHS?

Re: Cape Dory Owners at Herrington Harbor in Deale, MD?

Thanks for the responses. I will try to make the 5-7 party this Saturday. I will be busy cleaning Sanuye up from the trip Saturday so I'm sure I'll be in the West Marine at some point.

Look forward to meeting you all.

Cape Dory Owners at Herrington Harbor in Deale, MD?

Hello, I posted this in the regular forum but figured it might be better off here: I recently sailed my Cape Dory 28 from Florida to Deale, MD. I went outside from Port Canaveral to Cape Fear, then up the intracoastal the rest of the way. I am in Herrington Harbor North and slipped currently next to...

Cape Dory Owners at Herrington Harbor in Deale, MD?

Hello, I recently sailed my Cape Dory 28 from Florida to Deale, MD. I went outside from Port Canaveral to Cape Fear, then up the intracoastal the rest of the way. I am in Herrington Harbor North and slipped currently next to a CD28 (I think, but it has wheel steering). I was wondering if there are a...

Re: Chesapeake Bay

Hi guys. Well, I'm in Annapolis. I was going to drive down to flag harbor tomorrow( Sat, 2/25) to check it out. Maybe I'll meet a Cape Dory person while I'm there. :)

-Dave

PS: My boat is still in Florida for now.

The other thing to think about is that your Volvo might keep running fine for many more years, perhaps longer than you own the boat for. Mine is still running strong whereas I know guys that have had to replace thier newer (than my engine) Yanmars. I'm not saying that a Yanmar is less reliable, just...

I have a full battened main. I've never adjusted the battens, so maybe I'm losing 0.2kts. But I don't really care about that. Even without the adjustment she still sails pretty fast and I've won a couple races so it's good enough I think. The sail is easier to furl on the boom I think since the batt...

I hope it's that simple. From what I understood it's 90 days (not necessarily consecutive) or where it spends the majority of the year. Since I plan to live on it during that time while I work in Annapolis, I'll have to look into the travel time from Delaware or Virginia to Annapolis.

Yes, I like a more laid back community to live in. I just read where Maryland has a 5% tax on a boat's value if it's in thier waters for more than 90 days. Are there any other taxes or fees that I should know about to keep my boat there for six to eight months? I plan to keep it registered in Florid...

I'm sure if the whale was the least bit irritated by the kayaker we probably would never have seen this video, or the kayaker again for that matter.
