Re: Need Assistance for Winter Storage in N.E.
If they are willing and able to come up the Hudson River to Catskill NY the Hop-O-Nose Marina is a good choice. They are about 110 miles north of NYC. Rates are reasonable, mast will need to be unstepped. I keep my 22 there. Popular stop for mast service for those entering or leaving the NYS canal s...

Re: CD 22 Questions...
I replaced my battery meter too. Nothing fancy although Jim’s suggestion is a good one. I fill my water tank too. To empty it I use a hand held bilge pump. I pump it into the bilge and let the auto bilge pump handle it. I’ve also pumped into buckets or into the sink. Doesn’t take too long. Lastly I ...

I’ve sanded and painted one year and then sanded where needed and touched up the next. I’ll just repeat the process. Hudson River…

Re: New sails suggestions for a Typhoon
I just bought sails for the first time in my life. I’m starting my 3rd year as a sailor. The sails on my 22 were likely the originals. However a furler was added and it came with a 135. I had a similar problems as you describe. I decided to get a 100 jib as it was pointed out to me that the boat is ...

Re: Spartan Seacock Backing Plate Replacement
After breaking the original while attempting to service it, I initially wanted to replace one of mine with another Spartan. Unfortunately they were back ordered with no time frame on replacement. I followed the same guide that you posted and I like the Groco. Another of my seacocks has seized up and...

Re: Born to Build: The History of Cape Dory
I’m going to Cabin Fever this year. I’ve been before and they do a wonderful job. Seeing and meeting Andy will be special. Of course I’ll buy a book. I’m driving 3 1/2 hours and getting a hotel just to save shipping costs…haha

Re: CD22 New Sails
Upon the advise of my sailing instructor and the sail maker I got a 100% jig and a new main sail. I have the original Hank on head sail which the sail maker says is helpful. I still can use the 135 if I want to. Hard to believe the original sails from 1982 are still in decent shape!

Re: CD22 New Sails
Agreed…I think you get what you pay for in most cases. I will also need advise and repairs and it’s good to deal local with a family business. I’m dropping off my old sails tomorrow. Good luck with the Tohatsu. Sounds like the dealer is treating you well.
