Hi Dixon---My 28 Oday had white smoke one time. Very uncomfortable feeling not knowing what caused it. Turned out to be the raw water strainer got clogged with eel grass. Cleaning the strainer made the exhaust no longer white. Hope you have no major issues with the engine. Roger

I used a two speed ratcheting winch handle ( available from Defender --paid $200 at the time) to supplement my two speed self tailing winches on my 28 for the 135 headsail. Less effort . Short strokes. Roger

I came across a light blue Ty jib bag with the sailmaker label indicating' designed exclusively for Cape Dory by Cheong Lee of Hong Kong. Probably the bag for original equipment. PM me if you want it. Still good condition. No charge Roger

Has anyone had experience with Viadana track and blocks offered through Sail Care Pittsburg. Rated through 7/16 line. Prices are less than other manufacturers. I am curious. Thanks. Roger

Hi---Regarding the outboard. For the surface of the outboard which remains in the water I used Interlux Primocon ( a few coats ) and then Trilux 33 ( a few coats ). Works very well ---no growth. It is costly. Available only in quart size where I was shopping. Be sure to prep properly. Roger
