Since we have always used sta-bil, and we don't exceed a year, I'm thinking that a bad fuel supply is not my problem.
Have any other CD25 owners with Nissan/Tohatsu 4-strokes had this problem? Have any of you cleaned your own carburetor? Any tips?
Thanks for your responses thus far.

One thing I should have added is that we always disconnect the fuel tank and run the fuel out of the motor when we're done using it. A few years ago, a Nissan dealer, who had just cleaned the carburetor, told me not to run the gas out. He said the jets in the carburetor were so small that it was bet...

Maintaining a Nissan/Tohatsu 6hp
Anyone else have problems with fuel going bad and clogging up the carburetor on a Nissan or Tohatsu 4-stroke 6 hp motor? The Nissan on my dad's CD25 will start and idle fine, but will quit in gear under load. I understand that the key is to run it a least once a month, but unfortunately, with the bo...

Ordering from Defender is a really good suggestion, but I need to find something that I can source locally (today or tomorrow). I can get exterior (not marine) plywood if that is a suitable core material. It probably would not save me much time over the end grain cedar as I have the tools to make sh...

CD25 Cabin Sole
The cabin sole of my CD25 is badly delaminated. I'm considering two approaches to repairing it. The first would be to remove the top layer and rotten core then glass in a new core. The second would be to remove the whole existing fiberglass floor (exposing the bilge) and replace with a wooden floor....

I, too, am generally skeptical of websites with no phone numbers. My Teaqua purchase experience, however, was a very good one. I emailed to find out how quickly my order would ship after it was placed. I got a quick response from Sam with a good answer. I placed my order through the website, and it ...

Stay and Shroud lengths
I'm relaunching my CD25 tomorrow, and I have a question about the lengths of my stays and shrouds relative to each other. It seems the stays should be easy to differentiate since the backstay will be longer. Right? The upper shrouds should be easy too, since they are shorter than either stay and the...

Thanks Steve and David for your replies. The picture doesn't show them well, but there are some deep gouges there that need filling. I'm leaning toward the 3M Premium Marine Filler. It's a vinylester product. According to the info in the West Marine catalog it dries in 15 minutes and is easily sanda...

Best filler product for topsides repair
I need to repair some deep gouges on my topsides. I have used thickened West epoxy and MarineTex to do repairs on boats before, but I found both to be nearly unsandable. Since these repairs will be visible and covered with shiny new paint (probably Brightsides in white), I want to be able to easily ...

I'm not exactly clear on what broke, but the replacement will be on this page: http://www.rigrite.com/Spars/Spartan_Spars/cd3_mast.html You'll have to fax Rig-Rite this form: http://www.rigrite.com/WEBstuff/Pricing_Form.html Fill in part number you want, and they'll fax you back a price quote and wh...

Thanks for your reply. The mast is down and the bases are off, so I'll probably just address the one that's cracked. Rig-Rite has the base in stock for $159. I'm going to talk to a welding shop about repairing it before placing an order. It's cast aluminum, and I don't know if they can work with it....
