Boat shipping from Georgia to NC
I've noticed that there are several CD's available on Lake Lanier GA for relatively good prices. Might anyone have a guess-a-mate on how much it would cost to ship a CD 25D or 27 to the Oriental area of North Carolina? Appears to be about 500 miles or so. Any recommendations on shippers to contact? ...

Carolinas Fleet planning meeting
Ken,
Thanks for the invite to the Carolinas Fleet planning meeting on the 18th; I've freed up next weekend and plan on driving down to New Bern next Sat morning. How does one get to Captain Ratty's ?

CD's for coastal North Carolina cruising
I am continuing my search for the 'right' boat, being draw to the traditional lines and value of CD's. I'd like the opinion of the board on sailing a traditional full keel CD in the relatively shallow waters/light airs of coastal Carolina. I've got my eye on a well cared for CD 28 in Oriental ... bu...

CD Intrepid 9M info
A friend of mine is going to look at '78 CD Intrepid 9M berthed in Norfolk, Virginia. I was wondering what thoughts the membership might have on these CD's. I've searched the archives, and there seems to be a real dearth of information on the Intrepids. Any comments, insights, or cautions from the b...

sage advise
This thread really struck a chord this evening. I've been lurking here for the last year or so. Having just passed my 58th, I've watched years slip away landlocked and boatless in the Piedmont of NC, waiting for the 'right' time- work, money, other interests- all the typical excuses. I kept telling ...

CD 27 - 28 comparisions??
I've been lurking here for the past 4 months, trying to determine if a Cape Dory will be in the cards of the not-too-distant future. Before my career landlocked me in the piedmont of North Carolina, I crewed on a Beneteau 35.5 and a Bristol 29 while living in Virginia (in addition to owning a Wayfar...
