Sail Treatment
Greetings all, Yes, I am still alive. On a lighter note, can anyone remember the name and address of that company that does the sail treatment? I seem to remember some discussion about that years ago and some folks thought it was a good buy and really made a difference in their old sails.....Rich an...

Re: Maine Sail video
Peter,
Thanks for posting that show....very nice. I'm glad you and London are still cruising the coast. Of all the boats I had at various times, I miss my CD27 SALSA the most....she was a great boat. Your book sits prominently on my bookshelf.

Sails
I have had regular, full batten, and 2+2 over the years on my 3 boats. Liked the 2+2 best, seemed like the best of both worlds.

Beautiful boats
Mitch,
I would have enjoyed seeing that....they are such beautiful little boats. Maybe a bit of overkill for our lake, which is 2 miles across and a mile wide, but their owners love them....and the only boats on the lake when it blows over 20 knots (often) are the Typhoons and the Townies!

Typhoons Galore!
As a past owner of a fine CD27, I have revisited this board from time to time to keep track of some friends. I now sail and race a 17' Townie on Spofford Lake in New Hampshire. But I am never far from Cape Dorys, as I can sit on the deck of my club here and watch 5, yup 5 Typhoons swing from their m...

Funny story
That is a funny story....and knowing Dick Barthel as I do, I completely believe it! There are few boats I love as much as Cape Dorys...(Shannon is one) but Pacific Seacrafts are at the top of my list. Enjoy her and keep posting funny stories.

27 vs 25D
Hi Seahunt, I don't think your jump from a Typhoon to a 25D or 27 is too small....it's a good jump up. You might find a CD33 too much at this point, but I'm sure you can sail either one of the others yourself. Having owned a 27 and sailed a 25D with my old friend Dick Bartel, I can assure you they a...

Leo
Bob, Love the picture of Leo coming out the companionway with a CD scowl on his face! Being the loyal CDer he is, it aways pained him when one of the members left the fold (ex. me and my Shannon 28). But he does know boats, so he knows you bought an excellent one. And you couldn't have a better guy ...

Steve,
Nobody should be offended by your opinion about a dodger. But I have to say that a dodger was the single best addition I ever made to my several boats for all the reasons and more that Troy so well stated.

Brand X Contingent
The folks on this board have always been very kind to those of us who started with Cape Dorys and eventually fell in love with other boats....in my case a Shannon 28 was my dream boat (actually, a Hinckley Bermuda 40 is my real dream boat but I could afford the Shannon...:) ) Many of us, Dick Feffer...

Sail it?
You would have quite an adventure and really get to know your boat if you sailed her home. I once bought a 24' Quickstep in Maine and sailed it to Warwick, R.I. over 5 days....lots of fun. Good luck with your Typhoon....great boat.

Great Cruise
This cruise sounds like a wonderful experience for anyone who can participate. All of these stops are great places, and who could pass up the chance to share a glass of scotch with the Fleet Captain!!! I hope to get to Bristol to meet up with some old friends.
