You are a great group of people!
Fellow Skippers,
Over the years, this board and its gracious members have helped me immensely with my CD 30 Anne Freeman and our adventures. My only regret in purchasing a Pacific Seacraft 34 (besides the boat loan) is that there is nothing remotely close to this online community for my new boat. I have heard people say this before, it is now something I'm realizing myself.
I have made some great friends here and I hope that I can continue to participate in this forum. For the time being, I still own a Cape Dory, a boat I have much affection for; it has given me some of the best memories of my life. I am sailing our new boat home starting August 9 from west coast of FL and hope to goodness it is as sound as Anne Freeman. Taking command of a new vessel comes with some anxiety, hopefully all will go well.
Just wanted to make sure I thanked you all for your generosity and companionship, up to now my sailing community has been right here within this well managed site. My hope is that will continue and perhaps one day I can join some of you with my brand-x boat at a fleet gathering or just out on the water.

Mmmmm. Pacific Seacraft
Pacific Seacraft ... very, very nice.
I'm betting the nice folks here like other nice folks whether they're ex, current or wanna be Cape Dorians. I'm a Typhooner and love it but will eventually get a larger boat. When the time comes a Cape Dory would be great. But if a PS Flicka winked at me just the right way ...

Don't be a stranger ... and I'm jealous, too
Chase,
When I sailed to Bermuda last month aboard Isabelle, George VanDrasek's CD33, we were the smallest boat in the Bermuda Cruising Rally.
The second-smallest boat was a Pacific Seacraft 34. George and his crew got a tour of the boat when we reached St. George's -- and what a beauty!
Best of luck with your new boat, and don't forget your friends on the Cape Dory Board.

The late Dick Feffer formerly of the NE Fleet had a CD30 MKII that he eventually sold and bought a PS 34. He always told me that the PS 34 was his dream boat. Very well made!
No need to leave this board. Once a Cape Dorian, always a Cape Dorian in spirit!

The folks on this board have always been very kind to those of us who started with Cape Dorys and eventually fell in love with other boats....in my case a Shannon 28 was my dream boat (actually, a Hinckley Bermuda 40 is my real dream boat but I could afford the Shannon... ) Many of us, Dick Feffer, Mike Thorpe, etc. moved on for various reasons, and a Pacific Seacraft 34 is one of the finest boats out there. We all still have much affection for Cape Dorys and the good folks who sail them and participate in this board, a most excellent source for any sailor. Best of luck with your new boat.
