BTW...how have people delt with the hard (?polyester) compound that fills the space between the deck house and liner? It is cracked and a few hunks missing. I plan to clean up the loose stuff and fill with epoxy putty unless someone has other thoughts...
That's what I did.

I removed all the ports on my CD25. I took off the outer trim ring, removed all the bronze machine screws and PM nuts. Beware : I was unable to find replacement bronze PM nuts or oval head machine screws of the correct size. I had to settle for flathead bronze machine screws and standard nuts. Reali...

Harley Outboard?

For those of you who would scoff at a Harley Davidson outboard, let me remind you that 90% of all Harleys ever built are still on the road....

The other 10% made it home.

Re: Florida Fleet? Yes there is....

Neil Gordon wrote:... instead of trying to find 10 boats to become organizational, find one boat at a time and invite them to a float in.
Another great idea, Neil! If only my boat was afloat! But I'm getting there....

I, for one, would appreciate that, Rit. Good idea!

In case anyone is wondering, I am a member of CDSOA, but alas, I am fleetless by circumstance, not by choice.

Florida Fleet

Pensacola is the Gulf side. There is no fleet on the Atlantic side of Florida, for whatever reason. So I, for one, consider CDSOA as my "fleet". The question here is not what fleet I belong to. The question is, are there any CD construction photos available? It would be really nice to see ...

Hi Scott; I'm not familiar with the Typhoon, but I assume it's similar to the CD 25. I have heard of tholes that fit over the coaming winches to accept the oarlocks. I suspect that the oars would have to be quite long, with a corresponding loss of mechanical advantage. I have also heard that scullin...

Dental picks are good, but I have found that crochet hooks are even better. You can get them in various sizes, including very small ones, and the little hook works well to snag the "O" ring and remove it more easily than a dental pick. Since they are designed to work in fabric without snag...
