Bimini
I had a bimini custom made for my CD 25 by a local sail maker......the shade is great...access to the mast is a little awkward but manageable........and it is hard to see the mast head..........sitting headroom is more than adequate........a window seems like a great idea. I am not a racer.....and s...

After an unfortunate combination of too much wind, not enough power, my bad judgement and a big piling, I need to have the bow pulpit on my Cape Dory 25 repaired. I would appreciate any recommendations for a shop that does stainless steel tubing work in Annapolis to Solomans MD area. Thanks in advan...

CD 25 Bimini
I had a bimini custom made for STAR (CD 25 #836) by Potomac Sails in Alexandria Va.......we also recut the main to allow the sheet to be tightened without the boom hitting the frame.....The total sail area was reduced by about 4-5%........I saw no difference in performance/speed. Standing headroom i...

Bimini Color
FWIW....the following information was provided by Sunbrella Customer Service: Quote: Our marine fabrics are all constructed the same---amount of UV penetration would be approx. the same on each color---the difference in light to dark colors is amount of "glare" inside. Our fabrics will not...

Biminis
I just had a bimini custom made for my CD 25.......the sail maker who did the work also suggested recutting the main. The amount of sail area lost is insignificant but the bimini has about 5'10" headroom. The custom made bimini was more expensive but the sailmaker custom fit the supports to the...

Rig Rite Problems/ steaming/foredeck light for CD 25
I have been trying to obtain a new steaming light/foredeck light for a CD 25 from Rig Rite for the past three months. Faxed order forms with or without credit card numbers seem to vanish. The lady at the telephone number tells me to keep trying....apparently there is no way to talk to a real person ...

Info for JLG
On STAR CD 25 #836, there is no overboard discharge for either the head or holding tank. There is a 1 1/2 inch pump out fitting on the port side main deck about one foot forward of the winch. All the stuff must be removed via the pumpout fitting.

CD 25 Holding Tank
Thanks for the info....STAR is a CD 25. It appears that a PO custom built some type of wooden box, lined it with glass and placed the box in the port settee locker. I was able to lift one side of the box with a pry bar so I think it should be easy to get out after I remove the locker top/settee wood...

CD 25 Holding Tank....A question I never wanted to ask
After the first sail of the season in STAR, CD 25 #836, I noticed a small puddle in the port settee locker. The water appeared to be coming from below the holding tank. On STAR, there is a wooden box in the port settee locker, 24 inches long, 14 inches wide and conforming to the curve of the hull. T...

Steaming/Foredeck light for CD 25
I need to replace the steaming/foredeck light on my CD 25 "STAR" Hull # 836. The owners manual indicates original light was supplied by Spartan Marine. They no longer carry the light. Have any CD 25 owners replaced the steaming/foredeck light? If so what brand was used? I would like to avo...
