Looking to buy a CD 30 Cutter (maybe)
Hi, After years away from Cape Dories, I'm considering purchasing a 30 Cutter. There are several for sale in similar condition near me (Mass) listed at or about $20K. I've looked at one and will be looking at two others today. Can anyone give me a rundown of what to look for, both good and bad? One ...

Yes, although it's really named after the song of the same name on the album Imperial Bedroom:)
I've not received a single inquiry. Any suggestions on how to get her sold?!

Hello, I have decided to place my lovely Typhoon up for sale. She's been on the hard for almost 3 years now after undergoing some improvements in 2007-9. She is HULL # 2 and painted blue (by me). She has new mahagony toe rails, all bright work is in very good condition, a barely used (and always mai...

WTB, Typhoon Weekender Main Sail
Looking for a reasonable deal on a sail in good condition. I have a used 4 HP outboard to barter, if that appeals. BTW, I'm adding a cream-colored boot stripe this spring and hope to repace the knees. She's a real head-turner now! Eric Woodman Typhoon "Almost Blue" Moored in Manchester, MA...

TyTwo is Almost Blue (new photos)
Hi all,
The topsides are done, the new name is official, the new mahogany toe rails are ready to go on, the deck is now buff in color (not CD blue).

TyTwo Progress (Now Almost Blue)
Hi all, After dozens of hours of scraping/sanding and priming, I applied the first coat of Blue Interlux Perfection today to the topsides of my Typhoon (renamed Almost Blue, formerly Megan E). While I think it will be fine, I'm not thrilled with how it came out today. I've done some rolling and tipp...

Hi, Thanks for the info. My boat is a Cape-Dory built Typhoon #2 (I know there were older Tys, but I like the moniker TyTwo:) ) when I first looked at it I thought the knees were from the factory, then I read some posts about retrofit knees, but reading these helpful posts I see the distinction betw...

Rotten Knees? Typhoon
Hi all, IN rehabbing TyTwo (soon to be Almost Blue), I've come do a dreaded part of the job: dealing with the rotted plywood knees under the deck (in the cabin) through which the shroud chainplates are attached. The plywood has become delaminated and is wet to the touch (lots of water gets in the ca...

My Ty has teak trim around the cockpit seats. And, as john noted, there is a plastic builders' plate.

Hi there, Eric Woodman here, John Ring's buddy. I do, indeed own CD Typhoon #2 (Megan E) and she is in my back yard undergoing an extremely slow rehab. She's not much to look at now, but hopefully by the spring of '10 she'll be back in business. I have some photos posted here. Note that the toe rail...
