Re: CD 28 info needed
6'4 is adequate for a vberth likely will only have grandkids up there but it is nice to be able to get out of each others way for a while. We are going back to the exumas this winter so I will likely be filling it with "stuff" anyway. When I unloaded our contessa 26 it came up about 5 inch...

Hoping to find a well kept CD 28 within a few hours drive of Panama City Florida, but willing to consider boats further away. Thanks for any leads, Volker

Hello all, I have the cape dory 28 and an alberg 30 on my short list to replace the contessa 26 we just sold.I looked at a basket case alberg and really liked the interior ergonomics but haven't located a nice one. I was wondering if someone had the actual headroom and vberth dimensions for the cape...

Ron I've got some experience with hard kayaks but am by no means an expert. You will certainly sacrifice some speed even with the best inflatables. I've paddled the Innova at 4 knots (measured with the GPS) but 2 or 2.5 would be a good effortless cruising speed. One thing valuable to the sailorman t...

Ron.. I went through the same thing with my 23 footer.. I wanted a dinghy I could store down below while on open water passages.. I finally bought a Innova inflatable kayak.. these are thick skinned quality boats that paddle surprisingly well.. I have the 10 foot single but should have bought the 13...

I seem to remember that the compression release just opens up valves to relieve compression.. the manual gives some specs for adjusting the compression release lever if i remmber correctly.. i think you may also need to check your valve clearance which is recommended every 50 hours in the manual.. p...

rowing /sculling
longshot.. I don't think you would have any problems rowing a typhoon... you can make up some square inserts for your winches and drill 1/2 inch hole to accept your oarlocks.. as far as sculling goes.. you really need a specialized oar for it.. good for confined areas but for a small boat like a typ...
