Thanks Cathy.

A case of "it's a small world" on the internet: I had stumbled across the very same blog and wondered if anyone on the CD Board knew of him.

Thanks Jambalaya,

My primary concern is that the CD30 does not have enough storage space for the stores required by two people on an extended cruise.

By most accounts we're talking 2000-2500 lbs. of stuff.

Hugh Dundee CD30 circumnavigator?

Does anyone know and have contact information for Hugh Dundee, a CD30 owner who has circumnavigated and has multi-Atlantic crossings?

Thanks, John

Hugh Dundee CD30 circumnavigator?

First Shaunfield/Stalker thanks for the Trefethen book title.

Does anyone know of and have contact information for Hugh Dundee. A Cape Dory 30 owner who has circumnavigated his CD30 and made multi-Atlantic crossings?

Thanks, John

Thanks Julian.

For long term cruising you think there is enough storage space and weight capacity for for two people on your CD30?

Do you have a Mark I or Mark II CD30?

Thanks, John

I tried to download some of the videos on s/v FeNIX website, but was unable to run them.

Is anyone else having trouble viewing these?

(I also downloaded the viewing software, just in case my version was old, but it didn't seem to make a difference)

Any ideas?

Thanks, John

Perhaps I should broaden the question. Is there a sailboat that I could purchase and equip with very basic equipment that will safely carry two people and their stores for $30-40,000. I'm pretty sure this will be a sailboat around 30 feet. Not interested in a boat in poor condition that needs years ...

A CD36 would be great, but it would take too long to save enough money to purchase one. I can save about $20,000 per year and would like to start cruising in 3 to 4 years on a cruise where we leave with 18-24 months worth of expenses and we work while cruising to refill the cruising "kitty"...

Thanks Parfait's Provider for the link to Fred and FeNIX. The CD28 with Fred's modifications has performed well, and what a great adventure and personal story. There are others on similar voyages. Russ Cobb on a Tartan 27 has crossed the Atlantic, done the canals of Europe, the Med, returned, then t...

CD30c suitable for blue water cruising?

I'm trying to identify a suitable sailboat for a couple on a modest budget to cruise the Bahamas, cross the Atlantic, the Med, and return to the US. Would a CD30 be a good choice? Would it be able to carry significant stores for two people and still perform well? Are CD30s good performers in light w...
