Re: Any Typhoon Racing Tips The Ty "ROCKSTARS" Want to Share
I would like to read more go fast ideas also. My rules; UPWIND, keep the boat flat by playing the main. Is this correct or does a little heel help? DOWNWIND and REACHING, I think a boom vang is essential for speed. SAILS, I use many tell tails on the main and the jib. Question; Tiller ext, how long,...

COAMING MOUNTED CAM CLEATS FOR TYPHOON 125 JIB
Do I need an extra mounting block? Size? Is the coaming board strong enough without a block? Is their a cam cleat that I can mount directly to the coaming without using a block? Location on coaming? Can I mount on the outside or top of the coaming for comfort? I sail alone many times, always in shif...

cleaning teak
>I think it was Don Casey (SAILBOAT REFINISHING) who said AJAX had many of the same ingredients as teak cleaner. I tried it with a soft brush and it worked great on teak. >I used West Marine Wood Pro Plus with good results on teak. The color is great similar to varnish. The Epiphanies person at the ...

Securing Mast when trailing
I raised the trailer mast support (I'm guessing approx. 12" to 16") enough so the mast, when it rests on the rear deck and the trailer support, clears the cabin top. I bolted a 2x4 to the trailer support and cut a V in the top of the 2x4 to hold the mast. I place my throwable life preserve...

#4 typhoon
Yesterday on Otsego Lake, Cooperstown, N.Y., I saw a black hull, green topside Typhoon, with no side port lites in the cabin, with Ty 4 on the main sail. I was not able to get close but do plan on tracking it down soon. Are 1,2,3, still sailing?

attaching vang to mast on a ty
Near the bottom of the mast, below the turning blocks for the main and jib halyard, is a space large enough in the sail track to install a small strap eye with 2 ss bolts ( about 1/2") washers, lock washers, and nuts. Then fasten the lower block of the vang to the strap with a shackle. It worke...

Rigging covers etc.
I am a little confused. My problem is the jib and sheets get tangled in the shrouds during tacking. Rigging covers don't appear to be much help. I could be wrong. Rollers that cover only the turn buckles are to short. Depending on the wind sometimes the jib touches the shrouds 24" to 30" u...

Typhoon weekender weight
Do all Tys weigh the same before the extras are added? Would newer boats weigh different than older at time of manufacture?
Thanks, Chris
