Cape Dory 270, with trailer, in North Carolina

Hear ye, hear ye; pricing on Morveren is reduced. I've had some good nibbles on her, but the market is just not quite up to my asking price - I get it - therefore going to $10,000. Let's dicker from there. Any serious offer considered. Don't forget - she comes with a 3-axle trailer if you want to mo...

Re: New Sailing Movie

This looks very interesting Sea Hunt. I'll definitely look for this one. Another interesting choice might be Deep Water. A documentary about a British weekend sailor who enters the Whitbread (or whatever solo circumnavigation race at the time), who had barely enough experience. It has a sad ending, ...

Re: Converting trailer to screw-pad style for a 22

With my trailer (for a 27/270), it appears the P. O. used typical jack stands from the yard and welded them to the frame. Been working well so far, and made the trip from Illinois to the NC coast back in '05.

Re: Coffeeholic

Good point Neil! I brew coffee for 4 cups every morning on the alky burner. Takes a while that's why I start that first before cooking breakfast. To OJ: it shouldn't matter AC or DC, since power calculations from AC, in many cases, starts by determining RMS (root-mean-square) of the sine wave. Essen...

I agree Ken

I just think this model is too large (tll) for the limited options Im willing to explore. If i remember right the force 10 is not as tall and may be an option. Frankly given the size of my cabin I'm considering coming up with a heater attachment for the galley stove.

Cabin heater for sale ** fixed the photo link ** I think!

OK Folks, I bought this Dickinson Chesapeake diesel heater 2nd hand off eBey without thinking about where I would mount it. It's 7"x8"x19", too tall for my needs. It is complete but no supply tank or plumbing - you supply that. Otherwise it is complete to my knowledge and is in great ...

I have a possible solution

I have a Dickinson heater that I will be getting rid of. In all honesty though, I found it too large to actually install in the 270 (slighly wider saloon than the 27).

I'll post pics when I have a moment to get Photobucket account.

How much to rent the petite wife?

Cutlass bearing on the 270 is way overdue. I'm guessing the engine will have to be dismounted and moved forward.
