Jim, Not sure what you mean by windage and visibility problems. The dinghy is only suppose to be up in the stow position after you dock. Fuel usage
I cannot give you any definitive numbers, but I sail the boat weekly on average (south Texas) and fill my 20 gallon tank twice per YEAR! It is a 15 minute motor from dock to sail.

What a great race! I wont spoil it for anyone, but I highly recomend watching the replay at 6 EST on VS this afternoon. Sailing at its best!
