Mooring Whips

Tom,
I use mooring whips and I think they work great on my Typhoon Weekender. I moor the boat off my dock which is on a busy river and there is a lot of wake action from passing boat traffic. The also work great holding the boat in proper position when the wind and storms hit.

Randy, Thank you for your reply/info. Yes, it is the rudder shaft, stem, post, or whatever the proper term for it is, that is moving, not the tiller clamp as I clearly state in paragraph two of my initial post. So if that is the case you are saying that is "normal" or "good" and ...

Or if I do not pull up on the tiller will I be able to sail for the season? You gave me a lot of technical information that I do not ...

Rudder and/or tiller problem?????

This is only my second sailing season with my Typhoon Weekender, and I have noticed something unusual about my tiller. Could someone please advise me if this is normal, or do I have a problem, and if a problem, what is the solution. Where the tiller clamps onto what I call the rudder post or stem is...

Self-tailing winches on a Typhoon

Thank you for your replies.
I have been searching for those "Winchers" for years! If they work you have saved me and hopefully many other sailors hundreds of dollars!
Thank you again for your help! :)

Self-tailing winches on a Typhoon?

Does anyone have self-tailing winches on their Typhoon, or researched the possibility of installing them? I do a lot of solo sailing on my Typhoon and would like to free up my hands more, and I think one way would be to have self-tailing winches. I know many of you think the winches on a Typhoon are...
