Any chance of finding a CD330?

Post by Chris Reinke »

Thanks to all the information I have received from CD owners I have set my heart on the CD330. Now that I know what best meets my needs on paper I need to make sure it "feels right under foot". Any information on locating a CD330 would be appreciated. I realize only 24 were manufactured and their owners are unlikely to part with them. However, I remain hopeful that I can find that perfect boat (at that perfect price).

Good luck on finding your dream CD330. I presently own a CD33.5 - or so it is described as in its papers. What is the difference, if any between the 330 vs. the 33.5, do you know? I love this boat, she feels great, looks great, sails great and gives you a very good feeling of security. Hope you find one.
Zeida.

Zeida - I am continuing my search for a CD330. I have been unsuccessful in ascertaining what a CD33.5 is. Two names which I have seen very often refered to as "experts" are Dave Perry at Robinhood Marine, Fred Parker at Commonwealth Yachts in Gloucester Pt. Virginia (Ex-Director of Sales at Robinhood). Perhaps they could lend you some guidance.

I was talking to Dave Perry yesterday and asked him about a "CD33.5". Dave indicated that CD never had a production boat titled a 33.5. Is it possible that she is a 330? I would suggest you review the plans listed on this web site to ascertain if you have a unique "prototype" model or a misprinted 330. Good Luck.

From what I have seen the CD 330 is the same hull as the 33 but the interior is "reversed" and quite different. I believe the CD330s were also built with a bowsprit which not all 33s have.

Cheers.
