Hey does anyone know what type of chain plate goes in the stern stay of a CD25? Or know anyone who can fix a rusty one that will also return your calls? I've got a week to move this boat from Annapolis to Baltimore and I can't get any #@??/($ insurance unless the chain plate is fixed and I can't find anyone to fix it. Oh, they'll say they'll fix it. "it'll only take an hour or so." they say. But when it comes down to it they arn't in the office and won't return phone calls. But thats OK its amost July for %^&&#@'s sake. I about ready to wax my snow skis

So at this point I'll fix the %$&*# thing myself. Anyone know where I can find one. 1973 CD25. The chain plate has a tail and the west marine catalog don't have any with tails. At least I think its a tail but its under fiberglass so I can't really tell.

Don't know anything about CD 25's , Chris, but don't the CD's have a mesh welded to the chain plate that is layed up between the layers of fiberglass when the hull is constructed? Even if you could get one, how would you get it laminated in? Aren't you going to have to get a different style and through bolt to the hull or something? This is just a wild guess, the experts who really know will jump all over this message and tell you how to do it. At least I hope so.

Someone told me to use marine plywood and a regular chain plate. Have you done this, or know anyone who has? If its sound I think I could do it pretty easy with a drumel and a trip to US Boat.
