Post by Warren Robinson »

I have a 1974 Cape Dory 25. It was damaged in a storm and the piece of teak on the side was damaged. I live in Philadelphia Pa. and would like to know where to purchase a replacement strip. please leave me a message as I would like to address this problem....

Warren,
Delaware County supply is a few blocks off of chichester avenue a mile or so off of I-95 near the state line. They carry teak and can mill anything you need. smear some wax on a good section of the rubrail (I am assuming that is what is damaged) and then take a cast with some polyester body filler. You can get good dimensions off of that. I had a similar incident a long time ago. Search back through the messages there was a discussion on the subject in the past year. I responded so you can get a lead on the approximate date by searching on my name.
