I recently replaced my older DataMarine Depthfinder with a new Standard Horizon gauge but wanted to use the existing Datamarine nylon thru-hall. Neil Gordon on this post advised me that this would work. Indeed, the different brands work well together. Hope this helps someone else...and maybe saves you the cost and/or time of replacing BOTH units.
